The anthem is a Waka Poem from the Heian period, which was later sung to a melody from the Meiji Era
	Furigana Kimi ga yo wa Chiyo ni yachiyo ni Sazare ishi no Iwao to narite Koke no musu made

English Translation

May your reign
Continue for a thousand years.
And last for eight thousand of generations
Until pebbles
Turn into boulders
And covered with Moss
